Thanksgiving 2012

We had the official celebration last Sunday on my birthday but o and I still went to w'boro to eat with mom and dad. Well, o was already there. I just showed up! We had breakfast with jenny and john and then we napped while mom cooked (thanks mom!) and then an early traditional meal.

Parade time!

Being silly.

She was suppose to be spreading cool whip on the pie....

I had said I wasn't going to black Friday shop. But then I saw the target sale paper and changed my mind. I have always been against DVD players in the car. I think that's perfect time for talking to your kids. But my girl can TALK and on long trips I need a reprieve! Target had the DVD player I wanted for $60. It had been $130! So jenny and I picked up jackie and off we went. We got in bed abt 1:30 am and then got up about 7:30 for round 2. I just about finished everything for o and got a few things for myself including new bedding. Had been $250. I got it at Dillard's for $63! I'm telling you. Black Friday shopping really does save you money!

I sent this pic to o's teacher to see if this dog was too big for o's new nap mat! I think Emmanuel might tell me to try again! LOL!

And then I finally finished my tree and decorations last night. All that's left is o's tree which she'll help me do when she comes home from her daddy's.

It's been a great weekend and I still have 2 whole days left!

Weekday fun

On Monday o's class went on a field trip to the library.

Her daddy picked her up from school to take her on a date. It appears he took her card shopping too bc she came home with this for me. BEST. BIRTHDAY. CARD. EVER. And she was so excited about it.

On Tuesday GG picked o up and took her to w'boro. They've played, cooked and made s'mores in the fire pit! Her new slippers...

I can't wait to get there tomorrow morning to see her!

32.

This was a tough one. 30 didn't bother me. 31 was iffy. 32 sucks. I may or may not have had a meltdown a few weeks ago and the poor boy may or may not think I'm psycho now. I'll leave it at that. The official birthday photo.

But the day came and went. And it wasn't so terrible. We had thanksgiving / birthday celebration in Winnsboro yesterday.

This was a first. We've NEVER had a meal with the food on the table. So we documented and agreed we'd like to go back to "buffet style" so it's not as crowded. Lol!!

Thanks for trying your best for a photo there boy.

Pie from Strawn's!

Here's to another year. May it be as good to me as 31.

Weekend fun

Kinda started Thursday bc the boy was available for a lunch date. This is about our 3rd weekday lunch date in 1 1/2 years. And he brought me my birthday present early! In spiderman wrapping paper! With a Christmas card instead of a bday card. I'm one very lucky girl.

But loving my new boots!

Friday night after work o and I headed to Monroe to hang out with his family since his sister and her kids were in town. It was a good night!

We woke up bright and early this am for the last home game of the season. We had a blast tailgating all day and the joe had its third largest crowd ever. Unfortunately that's not enough to make up for a terrible defense. Doesn't matter how many points the offense scores if the defense allows the other team to score more. So frustrating! But this is still the best team in tech history in my book. Now 9-2 with a chance of going 10-2 and to a good bowl game. Things are looking good for tech! Photo overload. I know.

A trip to backus before the game and OMG! the deer and turkeys! O wanted a photo so bad!

If you hear my child ask for "brock obama" or if it's "drink time" please be sure to thank her uncles. I just know she's going to go to school (at a baptist church) and ask if it's drink time yet. Lord, forgive them please!

Blog worthy

Today o wrote her name all by herself for the first time. Proud mama right here. Thank you Brooksie for documenting these milestones for me!

And while I'm here, here are some pics from the past week.

We went to the lady techster game Monday night.

Mom took o to the library and bead town exhibit on Tuesday.

Look at that concentration! :)

I guess it's ok to take your shoes off at the library now???

And the really big news... Back before Halloween I told o that for every night she slept all night in her own bed she'd get a sticker. Once she earned 5 stickers I'd take her to the store to pick out a prize. She finally earned her 5th sticker tuesday morning. So off to the dollar tree after work. She finally settled on a snowman snow globe. It's soooo pretty!

And she was mad at me this morning but I wanted to document that she took her snow globe to school today! She couldn't wait to show mrs. Brooksie!

Hot Springs 2012

The boy prefers to take a trip for my birthday which is fine by me! Last year we went to the beach. This year I chose Hot Springs because I'd never been there and it was closer to home. So we left after lunch on Thursday and found our cabin on lake Hamilton.

We went to dinner at Fisherman's Wharf and then rented a couple of movies. Low key! Friday morning we had breakfast at the pancake shop, walked around downtown, shopped a little and then headed to the Mid-America science museum.

I never knew the boy had this side to him. He, for once, was like a kid in a candy store. He LOVED this place!

I was suppose to be watching the cloud thing form a tornado but what I noticed was my reflection in the curved glass... I wish I could walk around in curved glass all the time! Lol!!

After playing like kids we lunched and then spent the afternoon on the dock/pier just talking. Then dinner and another movie. For real. I wanted an entire weekend of relaxing and that's what I got!

We headed home yesterday morning to watch tech play. This is how we had to end up watching it. Dang longhorn network.

It was a great trip! Now to prepare for turning 32...

O's trip to gg and pops' house

O has been begging for several weeks to go home with gg. This weekend sounded as good as any. Mom picked her up from school friday and headed to Winnsboro for a much needed haircut. On Saturday they went on a picnic at the park. O LOVES picnics. She told me all about the blanket and basket on the phone! And today mom let her put out the nativity scene. She adores the baby Jesus and has for a good year now.

Oh! And they also made a cake!

Matt and I met mom at target today to pick her up. We shopped for what she wants Santa to bring her. It was so much fun! She picked out a Cinderella cell phone, a belle doll and these princess slippers.

I was glad to get her in the car headed home! Missed my baby!!
