First few days

O is loving school! I'm so happy! She won't tell me specifics but she's always ready to go in the mornings and happy in the evenings so I know all is well.

Monday...

The new sitter started Monday too. I think o and Alli are going to have a great year together.

Tuesday...

Her first project. She and GG worked on it. Rett has to add a picture of their fam and it will be completed.

Wednesday...

Dropping her off in the mornings I love watching her walk in. She's just so cute with her backpack and lunch box. So glad she's having fun!

Pre-K

Today was the day. We both were so excited! We got up extra early this morning so I could make sure I had everything and so we would have time for pictures. My mom used to always leave notes on napkins and in high school we'd find notes in our books on test days. I almost forgot to write the note today but remembered last minute. Whew!

I love her uniform. I secretly wish it was plaid. :)

Getting dressed she said, "I'm going to look like a boy!" I assured her that boys don't wear dresses and that just bc khaki may not be her color she doesn't have a choice. She took it in stride! :)

Matt even had someone go into work early to relieve him so he could get to Ruston in time for pictures.

During all the picture taking she announced, "mama is bossy." Honey, you ain't seen nothing yet!

And jenny came over too. 2nd year in a row for her. It's becoming tradition.

Rett met us at school for her big day.

She was very shy. Wouldn't talk to anyone even after we practiced what she was supposed to say to everyone. This afternoon she told me she just couldn't do it bc she was too shy.

I already LOVE her teacher, Mrs. Dionna. She is so sweet!

She found her cubby all by herself and loved that it had her name on it. We showed her where to hang her backpack and lunchbox and she assured us she could do it by herself.

And then it was time for us to go. She was gluing/glittering when we left.

I took the afternoon off work so I could be the one to pick her up today. I'm so glad I did that. She had a great day and was talking up a storm. She told me abt her teacher and what they did and what she ate for lunch. She even told me that her teacher read her note to her at lunch. Talk abt making a mama happy! She requested snocones for her treat. Matt met us there and we spent the rest of the afternoon playing and pulling info out of her.

I have no doubt that she's going to have a GREAT year! I'm so excited to see how much she grows and learns!

Back to school and birthdays

O starts school on Friday. Her first first day of school. Wow. I'm not nervous about this at all. I guess because I've dropped her off somewhere since she was 9 weeks old. In not anxious about leaving her there or anything but I'm wondering if she'll make friends and be sweet and learn a lot! In preparation for the big day she had to get her first back to school haircut! Brooke took her with instructions for before and after photos. Let me just say that o has never smiled this big for me! They took about 2 inches off and it looks so much healthier!

Matt and I went to a birthday party last night. I do love a theme. And I love to dress up for them. We had fun with this 70s theme!

Who needs cake. Champagne and candles will do! Happy birthday emily!

Tomorrow is pop's birthday. We celebrated this evening in Winnsboro. He'll be 61! I told him he didn't look a day over 49! ;)

I left O there to spend these last few days before school starts. Mom will bring her back Thursday hopefully well rested and ready for the big day! Come Friday she'll officially be a school age child. Omg. Where did the time go??? She is super excited and ready for it! Hope I am!!

Not a lot going on....

This girl loves Matt. And I'm almost positive he's only dating me bc of her. Poor guy. He cannot tell her no. He can't get on to her. And she thinks he walked on water. She rarely sees him during the week bc of his crazy work schedule but she asks me daily if he's coming over. Makes my mama heart happy.

We went shopping Saturday. The first stop was Dillard's. after about 5 min I heard, "we're going to ride the carousel." I think they were saying it in unison. 30 minutes later this is where I found them!

Monday was o's echo. She had an echo at her first apt right before she turned two. She was most uncooperative. So we tried again a few weeks later and got the same result. At her checkup when she was 3 we agreed to put it off yet another year to (hopefully) make sure we'd get a good one when we did attempt it. Those things aren't cheap!! So back at her checkup this year dr king advised it was time. He still hadn't seen all he wanted to see and needed to "dot his i's and cross his t's." and let me say she did great! Laid perfectly still the entire time! So hopefully there are no surprises and we won't have to have another one for several years.

Still can't say enough great things about that man.

Myrtle Beach

Andy and I headed to myrtle beach last Thursday for a work conference. Thursday night was 80s night and we went all out.

I got Matt this T-shirt but Andy needed to borrow it for the occasion. "Don't hate the player."

With Brett Strickland. President of the co. Dressed as creepy man magnum PI.

With our company underwriter Stephanie.

Friday morning we had meetings and then after lunch spent the day at the pool. After dinner we went to a celebrity impersonator show. I loved it! Veronica davis went all out on 80s decor for the entire conference. Pictured below with MJ. The air vent I was standing over was NOT cool. :)

The show consisted of all of the below and the blues brothers. It really was good if you ever go to myrtle beach!

Saturday morning was more meetings and then more pool/beach time. This year i actually got in the ocean so now I can officially say I've been in both the pacific and the atlantic oceans. Bucket list-check. And sat night was the awards ceremony. Andy and I with the Strickland family.

We made it home Sunday by lunch good and tired. For a work trip it's really a lot of fun!
