Water slides and weddings.

I got o a slip and slide last weekend. She loves it! She goes down it backwards but it doesn't bother her at all!

Last night brad anders got married. Almost like watching a family member get married. It was great seeing sarah and her boys and I'm so happy for brad and Ashleigh. Olivia had a blast! First she's like her mama and loves a good wedding. She sits so quietly and watches the whole thing. Secondly, she's a party animal. Drinks (lemonade), dinner, dancing, bouquet catching. She was in her element. At the end she asked if they were getting in a carriage. She really thinks brides are princesses. I'll never tell her differently. On the way home she said, and I quote, "mama that was a fun party but Ashleigh forgot to open her presents. Can we go to more weddings?" Yes, honey, we sure can!

She was stuck to pops like glue. I'm fairly certain he slept WELL afterwards!

Wish this would have turned out. She was grinning ear to ear.

For the record, it's NOT funny to tell a 32 year old woman to go try to catch it. Trust me. :) but watching a 4 year old do it for the first time is kinda funny!

Dragon boat races

This was so fun and I'm so glad we went! Dad's bank entered for the first time (it's only the 2nd year of races) and he was the drummer so we supported. They were the bayou bankeneers and they did awesome! They made it to the finals but most importantly they won the bankers cup which comes with all sorts of bragging rights.

Dad's bank had a tent with food/drinks on the bayou desaird side so we spent lunch and the afternoon races there. In the shade. IT. WAS. HOT. out there.

O thought it was hilarious that I was using her as a foot prop.

O spent both Friday and sat nights with mom at Jenny's house. It's apparently way to lame to sleep at your own house these days. According to o at least. So I picked her up for church this morning.

They learned abt Daniel and the lions den today at Sunday school.

And drew's 4th bday party was today! No pics of o. She was too busy. But us moms had fun! I cannot imagine going through life without these girls.

She turned 4.

We made cupcakes for school last night. I iced them and she totally did the rest.

And this morning I woke up the mother of a 4 year old.

She opened her card from me.

The official "I'm 4" photo.

Daylight donuts.

Complete with a candle and singing.

Her party at school.

And then ice cream with the girls before dance.

And still happy as a lark before bedtime.

I've been thinking about this blog post for a week. What can I say to accurately describe how I feel today? Olivia turned 4! Seriously? No way! This is just crazy to me. (Or cray cray like I taught her to say last week.) I remember her birth story like it was yesterday so there's no way it could have been 4 whole years ago. I'm so proud of the little girl she's growing into. She is so sweet and loving. She's funny! She is head strong which isn't a bad thing. She's my buddy. She's the reason I get up in the morning. And she's still my baby no matter how old she gets. I love you to the moon and back and around all the stars, Olivia Jane Hamby. Happy birthday!

Mother's Day 2013

It was such a great day! We didn't make it to church bc o got sick in the middle of the night and I didn't want to take any chances so we watched movies this morning and then headed to Monroe. Rett brought o over abt 10 and she walked in bearing gifts. A tissue paper flower that "my teacher made bc I don't know how" and a "shoe box that melissa found so I could wrap your cup and jelly beans." There are no secrets! she picked out a cup and jelly beans for me. And it's the best cup I've ever received!

She wanted to put the flower in a cup "because it's so pretty."

We started celebrating last night. Matt took me to the warehouse after a party we had to go to. It was delicious! He gave me a massage that I absolutely cannot wait to redeem. It's been too long!

So we started today with lunch with the boys family. O had a great time jumping on the trampoline and I relaxed on the patio while Matt catered to nearly her every whim. Then on to Jackie's for dinner. She and brock had a spread of fried fish and all the fixings. It was so good!

And Olivia was a perfect angel today! Couldn't have asked for a better day! Thanks to all who made it great!

Weekly ramblings

My picture posting is getting obnoxious. I know it. But I'm not sorry for it! :)

She wanted to dress fancy for dinner Monday night at the soup place (ronin). I'd say she knocked it out of the ballpark! And she twirled all over that restaurant. That's only cute for such a short time in a girls life so I just let her do it!

And by noon on Tuesday we were here. SOOO glad mom was here when it happened. I cleaned o while she cleaned the mess. I definitely had the easier job. Not sure I could have cleaned that. We nearly made it 4 years with no throw up (with me; she got sick with her dad once.)

By 5:45 we were starting to perk up so we headed out for our previously planned handprint for legacy park. (Disclaimer: I checked with those in charge before going and we went late to avoid exposing other kids just in case it was a virus.) Cannot thank gg and pops enough for this surprise bc it just wasn't in my budget this month!!

And bc of the sickies earlier in the day she'd already had a bath. We just needed to wash her hair. Why don't I do this more often?!? So easy!

And for the moment I've been waiting on since September. She got her very first recital costume tonight. Words escape me. I'm sure ill feel the same way at her college graduation. :)
