O learned to ride her bike last year so Santa brought her a bigger one. Then she regressed. I think she was scared. But this weekend she mastered it. She can officially get going, turn and stop all by herself!
I'm not sure how it happened so quickly. But it did and I'm sad. He is a dream baby, much like his sister. He's already sleeping for a 6 hour stretch at night and he's starting to smile at us. Waking a little more - yesterday he was up for 3 solid hours!
I asked Olivia to help me with the photos. Here's the result:
"Mama! He's falling! Get him! I cannot do this!" Mama!!!" You get the picture. :)
So hard to believe that Chandler wasn't even due until tomorrow, April 15, and he's now 3 weeks old. He's waking up more and has officially surpassed his birth weight. That took longer than we'd like but he's finally growing! In 5 days he gained an entire pound! Tuesday's weigh in was officially 9 lbs 7 oz!
His first real bath. This bathtub is amazing! Total back saver. When you're old parents like us that's important!
We went to the park after school on Tuesday but it was cold so we didn't stay too long.
Dance on Wednesdays.
Catching him awake...
We started tummy time. He's just like every other baby I know and isn't a fan!
Trying out a wrap. With Matt working weekends now I'm trying to lighten my load and free my hands. I think I may like this baby wearing thing.
We have survived! Our first week home o was on spring break. I thought that would be ideal but turns out cabin fever is real! For kids and adults!
We've been to plenty of dr apts for weight checks and check ups. O went to ft worth to visit Jenny and John. And Matt started his new weekend option job. He'll be working every weekend (fri - sun) still on nights. Not gonna lie. It's harder than I thought it'd be. But once chandler starts sleeping through the night I know it will be better.
First time to have two kids in the car!
One week birthday!
Tanning in Texas.
Little Mermaid at Bass Hall with the Gatlins.
Our moms have been a huge help. Matts mom cleans and changes diapers! For real, one day she scrubbed baseboards. I don't even do that! And my mom slaved in the kitchen and STOCKED our freezer with food! We are so thankful for everything they've done!
Chandler has now met all his cousins and aunts/uncles. He's totally outnumbered on my side but will be rough housing with his boy cousins on matt's side in no time I'm sure!
For his 2 week birthday we celebrated with our first dinner out. Chandler was a total dream and slept through the whole dinner! Matt knows the way to love me is with sushi and wine!
Having a baby on a holiday weekend is ideal! It was me and I think one other patient on the entire floor. Things were quiet and very relaxed! Because it was a holiday weekend our visitors were few and far between which allowed me to rest and us to get used to the idea of a baby. Lol.
Still very swollen.... I swear those girls that hop out of a hospital after giving birth in their pre-pregnancy jeans make me want to vomit!
O ended up going to Monroe after the section to stay with Jackie and finally made it back to Ruston late Friday afternoon. Once she decided she was ready to hold him all was right in my world. She's still really only interested if it's her idea but she is a great helper when we ask her to do things.
We were prepared to go home on Saturday until they told us he was jaundiced and we may not go home. So we spent Saturday in total limbo not knowing what the plan was. At about 5 pm they announced we were cleared to go home. It was just me and Matt and we scrambled to get him dressed. Too bad I hadn't gotten dressed bc I was sure we were staying another night!
They let me carry him and walk out of the hospital while Matt ran to get the car (where the car seat was just newly installed! I'm telling you - I'd prepared mentally to have a baby but not physically!) we had a few moments at home before o and our moms arrived and life as we knew it was forever changed!
